Becoming A Chancellor Minor

We are always looking for people who would like to work with youth and families within the SCA. Many hands make light work, and allow all of us to participate in the many facets of an event that we enjoy. There are many ways to help integrate families into our society, including teaching classes for all ages that clearly welcome younger members, hosting family-oriented activities, and running or helping with youth-specific activities. In order to run youth-specific activities, you must be a warranted Chancellor Minor.

Requirements for being a Chancellor Minor

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Be a paid member of the SCA, and maintain SCA membership for the duration of your time in office.
  • Pass a background check with the SCA.
  • Be interested in and willing to work with children and their families in order to support their full participation in the SCA

A Special Note on Background Checks:

If you are planning to become a Chancellor Minor, or if you would like to renew your background check, it is of the utmost importance that you first contact the East Kingdom Chancellor Minor at before doing anything else so that your name can be added onto the approved list.

If you are currently serving as a Chancellor Minor or Youth Officer at Large you will be contacted by the East Kingdom Youth Clerk, Lady Callaigh, approximately two months before your background check expires.  She will ensure that you are on the approved list, send you the necessary forms, and make sure that all of your information is up to date.

Submitting background check forms without going through the appropriate steps may delay your clearance.
