It was the summer of 2020. The time of the plague. Lockdowns and quarantines were required to slow the plague’s spread.

School ended for the year. The youth were no longer chained to their lessons.

East Kingdom Chancellor of Minors, Hugoline the Delicate of House Three Skulls thought it would be a good time to put together some online content to help keep them happy, busy, and engaged.

Hugoline proposed to the Chancellor Minors, Youth Officers, and Youth Marshals of the East Kingdom:

This summer, what my niece has renamed “Bummer Summer” because there are no events running, Pennsic has been canceled, and even summer camp is limited at best, is going to be a challenging one for both Youth and parents.

I have spoken with many of you as well as many parents throughout the Kingdom who have expressed interest in either creating, or having access to SCA related online content that their children could interact with over the summer. I hope you are as excited about this idea as I am. I would love to have you join me on the journey I am calling EK Tyger Camp!

Thus the Tyger Camp was born.
